With the end of Spring just around the corner, I am getting pumped for summer. There is so much to look forward to as venues start hosting outdoor events and Festivals start arriving in town. I’ve been slowly swapping my wetsuit for my bikinis and my boots for sand in my toes!
Now that the days are getting longer and warmer, more sunshine equals a plethora of exciting outdoor events to choose from, in some pretty specky places. There has been so much on offer, from live music and world class sporting events to art, food, and wine. The only problem I had this month was what to choose from!

I got wind that the Estate to Plate Fiesta was back. I’d missed out last year but heard rave reviews from friends and wanted to get in early this year so I jumped on their website to book early bird tickets. My friends’ talk of mouth-watering food and wine did not disappoint!
This year two local favourites, Happs Wines, and Goanna Bush Café combined forces to put together an amazing event. It included a presentation by the Happs’ winemaker, a walk thru the native bushland that connects the two properties, live music, and Spanish dancing. It was super fun and laid back and I would definitely recommend getting in early next year by keeping an eye on their website and booking tickets.

I also dropped into the Cowaramup Christmas Fair this November. I love seeking out one-of-a-kind gifts for my friends and family and this Cow Town event never fails to deliver. Locals know not to miss it as it is one of the best in South-West with all the usual atmosphere of a Fair including food trucks and entertainment. I picked up some fabulous unique presents from local makers and artists, even sneaking a few things in for myself!
Cowaramup or Cow Town as it is colloquially known is an awesome place to visit even when the Christmas Market isn’t on. So, after a zip around the market I strolled the town’s cute streets, checking out the awesome boutique shops and quirky Cow sculptors that make it so unique. While I was there, I couldn’t resist stopping by the Gourmet Food Merchant for some special treats. I picked up some of my favourite jams, chutneys, and cheeses, to create an awesome platter for later that arvo. I also learnt that Gourmet Food Merchant will create a picnic box for you if you’re on the run or are organising a special date, even offering a delivery service. What’s not to love about that!
