Frequently Asked Questions
What is the pet fee for?
This fee covers the additional cleaning required or potential wear and tear caused by pets, a small price to pay for the convenience and pleasure of having your pet accompany you on your holiday. This fee ensures that our pet-friendly accommodations can continue to offer high standards of cleanliness and maintenance, which benefits pet owners and future guests.
What does it mean when you state an accommodation is ‘pet-friendly’?
Our pet-friendly homes allow guests to stay with their pets. These accommodations explicitly state in their policies that pets are welcome. Features can range from simply allowing pets in the room to providing special amenities for pets such as beds, food bowls, treats, and sometimes even dedicated play areas.
What should I bring for my pet when staying at one of your pet-friendly holiday homes?
It’s advisable to bring along all the necessities your pet will need. This includes their food, bowls for food and water, their bed, a leash, waste bags, grooming supplies, and any favourite toys or additional bedding to help them feel comfortable and secure in a new environment. Additionally, ensure your pet is up-to-date on vaccinations and consider bringing along any medication they may need.
How should I prepare my pet for a long car journey?
If your pet will be travelling for the first time, take them on shorter trips beforehand to see how they handle being in a car. Use an appropriate safety harness, carrier, or vehicle pet barrier to secure your pet safely. Take blankets or toys that are familiar to your pet to provide comfort. Plan regular stops (every 2-3 hours) to allow your pet to use the bathroom, eat, drink, and exercise. Never leave your pet alone in the car, especially in hot weather, as it can lead to heatstroke very quickly.
